On Tuesday, March 14th, 2017, Peter Thompson Jr, Husband, Father, Son, and Brother passed away suddenly at the age of 61 years.

Peter Jr was born on November, 23, 1954.  He was the first son gifted to Betty Mae Lee and Peter Thompson Sr.  He was lovingly referred to as “Babe”, short for ”baby boy”, a nickname his mother gave him and he never could grew out of. Peter grew up in a family with his five sisters and two brothers living in Brooklyn, New York.

Peter Thompson was a very rambunctious child growing up in Brooklyn, Bedford Stuyvesant. He would play outdoors with his friends and cousins getting in and out of messes. He was a kind and gentle soul. He had a unwavering love for basketball and the New York Knicks. In 1968 Peter entered Westinghouse high school and settled into the responsibilities of adulthood, where he started on the journey of establishing his future.

Shortly after graduating from Westinghouse High School in 1971, Peter joined the United States Air Force. Where he traveled internationally to places such as, Iceland, England, and Germany. During his time in basic training, Peter met Ethel Elaine Anderson, who became the love of his life. In 1976, the now married couple welcomed a son to the union, David Wayne Thompson. The three settled in Las Vegas, Nevada, where the couple had previously been stationed, and fell in love with the city.

Following the military, Peter was contracted by the U.S. Air Force to work as a civilian. Later on, he worked for a cab company, where he was employed for eighteen years. This fulfilled his enjoyment of interacting with the tourists in Las Vegas, and also his passion for driving.

Peter was a disciplined man who also enjoyed a good laugh. He and his wife hosted many barbecues in their backyard with the company of friends and fellow service men. Road trips across the country were also enjoyable to the couple. During his leisure, some hobbies included, watching old western movies, war movies, reading and playing blackjack at the casino.

Peter is predeceased by his wife, Ethel Elaine Thompson and Mother, Betty James.He will be remembered and mourned by his son David Wayne Thompson, daughter in-law Kim Thompson, surviving siblings: Patricia Thompson, Kevin Thompson, Denise Thompson-Pemberton, Debra Williams, Noreen James-Williams, Nadine Chambers and Nathaniel James Jr. Peter will also be forever remembered by

his grandchildren, Deja, Teniya, and Brandon, as well as numerous Nieces, Nephews and extended family and friends.

                                                                          Rest in peace our beloved!

The moment that you left us.

Our hearts were split in two;

one side was filled with memories; the

other side died with you. We often lay

awake at night when the world is fast asleep;

and take a walk down memory lane with tears upon

our cheeks.

Remembering you is easy.

We do it everyday, but missing you is a heartache that’s never going away.

We hold you tightly within our hearts, and there you will remain;

you see life has to go on without you, but will never be the same.
