Douglas Thompson Obituary

Mr. Douglas Thompson was born on January 19, 1952, to the late Lorraine Tapper and Charles Hunter. God called Mr. Thompson home on May 27, 2022. He was seventy years old and was residing in Brooklyn at the onset of his illness.

Douglas graduated from Susan Wagner High School and attended Brooklyn College for a short period. He then enlisted in the military.

Douglas was an experienced Barber by trade. His grandmother was his original teacher about the art of haircutting. He worked in Barber Shops on Staten Island, where his uncles owned their own shops. Douglas’ hidden talent was his ability to be creative as an artist. His drawings and paintings were extremely expressive of who and how he viewed the world around him.

Douglas was well known by his nickname, “Cowboy”, which he was never able to lose. He was also known for his “Handlebar” mustache and always neatly dressed in the latest fashions.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his Uncle Gary Anglin. Aunts Shirley Williams (The Matriarch of the Ferguson family) and Yvette Blackstone. Uncles Reverend Anthony Ferguson and Joseph Turner and a host of cousins and very special friends.

May you Rest in Peace as you are now in God’s hands
