Dalton English Obituary

Dalton George English (daddy) passed away at the age of 80 years. Born and raised in St. Catherine, Jamaica West Indies. He moved to Brooklyn New York in 1984 and lived there until he moved to live with his daughter Cynthia (La ’donna) and her husband David in Queens New York for the last years of his life.

Daddy was survived by his two sons, seven daughters, four sons-in-law, two grandsons, three grand daughters, one great grandson, his sister Carmen, his brother Roy and many other family members and friends who will miss him.

Daddy was a hardworking man, who for most of his life held several jobs at the same time. Daddy was a strong, determined and fiercely independent man who was successful in his own right. He believed that if you work hard you will have success, and this was seen in the way he lived his life. He instilled the values of hard work, and education in his children This legacy lives on in his children and their children. Though he was not a man to display affection, he was a big softy. He would melt when he got a hug or an “I love you” from one of his children or Sons-in-law.

He often talk about his children and how proud he was of them. He loved carpentry, traveling to Jamaica and was a fan of country music and wrestling. His laughter and smile will be very missed by all who encountered him. Rest in peace Daddy, with our love and affection.

Special thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at North Shore University Hospital as well as Peninsula Nursing and Rehab who provided invaluable care to our Daddy in the last months of his life.
