Rose Doreen Livingston

Rose Dorean Livingston was born on January 24th, 1965 to Evadne and William Livingston. Rose grew up with her four siblings in Rollington Town in Kingston, Jamaica. At the age of 14 she migrated to Brooklyn. NY with her family to pursue the American dream. She graduated from Lafayette High School in 1982. Her persistent and ambitious character led her to pursue her educational endeavors further. When she was 16 years old she was admitted to Hobart and William Smith college where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Rose went on to receive a Master of Divinity degree from Howard University and a Master of Psychology degree from Bowie State University. For much of her career she worked as a caseworker for New York ACS. Her love and passion for the field inspired her to start Grace Day Care Center to create a clean and safe learning environment for families of the Flatbush Community in Brooklyn. Rose was a devoted servant of the lord. She had spent her entire life in the church. Her mother was a member of the Baptist Church which impacted her life and her decision of becoming a pastor. Rose later became a Reverend and joined the Methodist Church with she described as a godsend for women. Rose will always be remembered for her faith and generosity and loving spirit.  She will be survived by her siblings, Maureen, Claudia, and James Livingston. Nieces, cousins, friends and members of her church community.Obit to follow.
