Wilma “Ann” Glover was born July 7, 1948, the eldest child of Dorothy Glover Alexander in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  As a youth, she lived in Linden, New Jersey; later moving on to Staten Island, New York where she lived in Port Richmond and then on Westervelt Avenue, in New Brighton.  She graduated from Curtis High School where she was an A/B student.  She liked to be called China’ (pronounced Cheena) in High School.

As a youngster, Ann was always fascinated by and wanted to be a Mortician.  Back in the 70’s it was unusual for a woman to be in that field, so her dream went unsupported.  She worked at Sea View Hospital for 10 years as a CNA, attended Drake Business School, and then later settled in to be a full-time mother to her children.  Ann was very smart academically and excelled in mathematics, reading, biology, anatomy and physiology.  She loved Watching Thrillers, Twilight Zone, ANYTHING Vincent Price and, of course, CSI type shows on tv.

At a tender age she met and married Julius Ricardo Perez.  Ann and Ricky resided in Jamaica, Queens, New York.  This union produced two beautiful bundles of joy known as Delanna Shalice Perez and Donna Danielle Perez.  Once their marriage dissolved, she relocated to Elmwood, New Jersey where she met Willie Lewis, affectionately known as “Peanut”.   She remained in a 10-year committed relationship with Peanut, who loved and helped raise Delanna and Donna as his own, until his untimely death in 1988.

In the mid 1990’s, after years of secretly admiring Ann, a longtime family friend of the Glover family, Louis Ford, professed his love to Ann.  Ann and Louie became an item and went on to be lifelong companions for over 25 years.  They resided together in Mariner’s Harbor area of Staten Island, New York until her untimely death.

Awaiting Ann at Heaven’s Gate is her Mother & Stepfather, Dorothy Glover Alexander Robert Sr., her brother, Gerard Alexander, her Grandparents who helped raise her as their own, William and Inez Glover.   Beloved nephew: Sheldon Alexander, Cousins: Jimmy Glover, JoAnn McCombs, William McCoy Sr. and Kenya Clark.  Two of her favorites Micheal Swanson and Allan Glover.

She leaves behind her lifelong companion: Louis Ford, Two beloved daughters: Delanna Perez Chambers (Trevor)  , and Donna Perez Shah (Jamil); six grandchildren Nadia Torres, Timothy Brown II, Elijah Shah, Chloe Brock, Tremaine and Tirell Chambers, three great grandchildren:  Madison and Amore Chambers and Sinai Tolbert. Brother:  Robert Lee Alexander, Three sisters:  Debra Alexander, Renee Bagby, and Doreen Thompson (Freddie).  Two Aunts:  Thelma McCombs and Amelia McCoy, Two Uncles: William S. Glover and Theodore Glover, Nieces: Nacreasha, Charnae, and Chenoa Alexander, Nephews: Freddie Bethune, Robert (RJ) Alexander, Jr., and Sterling Alexander, her lil Sister/Cousin Theresa (Johnson) Terry, God Daughter: Ronnita Miller and a host of relatives and friends.
