Rufus Glapaulkpeh Wehgar was born on March 3rd, 1990, in Liberia, Paynesville, Monrovia, to parents Rebecca Wehgar and Jerry Frazier. He migrated to the United States at the age of two. At an early age, he attended Heads Start and P.S. 31, where he fell in love with basketball. Due to his passion for the sport, late-night practices, and challenges in the neighborhood, his mother sent him to Michigan, the Baptist Children's Home, where he stayed with Randy Rucker and family. Rufus excelled, completing junior high and high school, and later attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. In 2011, Rufus joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged early to pursue his love of basketball. Rufus was a nature enthusiast, finding peace in the woods, trees, flowers, and birds, especially at lakes or beaches, where he played with water and rocks.

A dedicated family man, Rufus was loving to his mother and siblings and a caring father to his son, Ethan Wehgar, whom he had with Louise Mulbah. Social and active, Rufus enjoyed outdoor events and sports, particularly basketball, which was integral to his life. He played both basketball and football in high school and college. Committed to community service, he helped the homeless by giving out food and contributing to shelters. Rufus was deeply concerned about Liberia, his motherland, and aimed to bring attention to its struggles through his business, "Almighty Service Inc." His dream included public speaking, highlighting Liberia's issues, expanding his social circle, growing his business, and, most importantly, teaching his son to become a better man.

During tough times, Rufus turned to God for solace, reading the Bible and listening to Gospel music, aspiring to become a future pastor. Sadly, at the age of 33, Rufus's life was cut short by a tragedy that leaves a permanent void in our hearts. He will be remembered as a loving, selfless individual who faced life's challenges with resilience and faith.

Rufus Glapaulkpeh Wehgar is survived by his son, Ethan, his mother Rebecca, and siblings Meshach, Elijah, Saydah, Mercy, Tozar, Esther, Emmanuel, and Darsee. Also surviving are his grandmother, Esther Glay, uncles John and Samuel, cousins Precious, Solomon, Asatu, Christian, and many more. He is survived by nieces, nephews, Louise (his son's mother), extended families, and friends in the U.S. and Liberia.

We may not understand why God allowed Rufus to rest at this time, but we say, sleep on Rufus until Jesus Christ comes back.
