Rosalind “Roz” Novella Welsh Joseph passed away on January 18th, 2022 at the age of 63. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife and mother, courageous advocate, and powerful business leader. The service will be held at Stradford Funeral Home at 1:00pm on Thursday January 27th, 2022.

Roz was born in Pares, Antigua on March 21, 1958 to Lester Welsh and Lanis Charles. At the age of 12, she moved to St. Croix, Virgin Islands, where she lived with her mother and her brother Evert “Flesh.” As an adult, she made Staten Island, NY her adopted home. There, she married the love of her life, Vincent Joseph, and raised 2 sons, Kairo and Chad.

Roz was a brilliant businessperson and entrepreneur. In 2009, she founded the Roz Joseph Group, an international art consultation and public relations firm. Her mission was to develop and support emerging artists around the globe. Prior to founding her own firm, Roz worked at the renowned international art insurance firm AXA Art.

Roz was a strong advocate for African American communities. She was instrumental in supporting numerous non-profits dedicated to marginalized communities. Among many examples of her charity, she promoted and secured funding for the African American Unity Parade in Staten Island.

Roz is survived by her husband Vincent, sons Kairo and Chad Joseph, grandson Liam Joseph, sister-in-law Vinnie Joseph, sister-in-law Mercier Weaver, nephew Evert Weaver Jr., nephew Devon Weaver, nephew Darnell Weaver, and niece Tundra Weaver.
