Past Master Ralph Lloyd Williams was born to Velma Romero in Harlem, New York on October 4, 1965. He was the beloved foster son to Francina Fredericks of Springville, New York from the age of two. He reunited with his mother Velma in Harlem around the age of five. Ralph grew up in Spring Valley in a group home called Lakeside where he discovered his extended loving family of brothers and sisters and graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1985. Ralph moved to Staten Island, New York to be close to his mother. Ralph Williams became a member of Silver Lake Lodge and Silver Queen Chapter of Staten Island. During his tenure there, he accomplished many philanthropic endeavors in the name of masonry. He is a Past Master of Silver Lake Lodge and a Past Patron of Silver Queen Chapter. Ralph met his beloved wife Sharon Smalls while conducting business for Silver Lake Lodge. They have four beautiful children: Charlene, Michelle, Reggie and Jesse. Together, Ralph and Sharon opened up a successful typesetting and printing business in Staten Island for over 20 years; and were members of St. Philips Baptist Church.
Later in his young life, Ralph's health began to decline upon the discovery of kidney failure. He closed up the print shop and started printing from home. Shortly thereafter, the Lord called for them to move to Johnson City, New York. Ralph did not allow his illness to dictate his life. He was a very active member of Silver Lake Lodge and later became a member of Sheba Chapter; where is became the Worthy Patron. Ralph is a graduate of Binghamton University with a baccalaureate degree, was on the Board of the NAACP, just to name a few of his affiliations. He was a great brother to his sister and brothers of the order, and oftentimes was the gentle strength in the background at various meetings.
Ralph also was a great, gentle warrior for Christ. Oftentimes he did not feel well enough to go to work, but persevered to work and care of the mentally disabled people at Racker, his place of employment. He loved spending time with his coworkers and cooking for the residents. He enjoyed helping and talking to everyone to make sure, they were okay, because he understood the struggle of working in this particular field. He was an avid fisherman and could oftentimes while in Staten Island going out on the boats in Brooklyn to fish with his friends and brothers. He also was a member of Beautiful Plain Baptist Church who changed their name to Cornerstone Baptist Church of which he was a trustee in Binghamton and later in Endicott, NY.
Past Mater Ralph Williams leaves to mourn his beloved wife Sharon Smalls-Williams and daughters Charlene Nesbit of Johnson City, daughter Michelle Nesbit of North Carolina, sons: Reginald Scott Williams of Seattle, Washington and Jesse Dennis Williams of Johnson City, New York. A granddaughter: Evelyn Clarke of Johnson City, NY; father-in-law: Reverend Dr. Williams Smalls and mother-in-law Anna Smalls of New Rochelle, New York; sisters in law: Sandra Barbry of White Plains, New York
and Jackie Smalls of Mount Vernon, New York; nephew Marcel Bullock of White Plains, New York and a host of relatives; friends and family.
