Marilyn Azalia Farrell, affectionately known as “Moms” or “Maro”, aged 75 was born in Barataria, on the beautiful cosmopolitan island of Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies to Pearl and Wilberforce Farrell.

Marilyn grew up in the Anglican Church and actively participated in the church’s youth group and choir, was Girl Guide Leader in the Girl Guide Association of Trinidad & Tobago, an educator, loved children, an avid singer, loved music, dancing, traveling, feting, and Trinbago Carnival. She loved to laugh and in later years was active on the Caribbean circuit in New York City, energetically ending up in many high profile fetes, and on various websites in pictures and videos from events she attended with her daughter, family members and friends.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter Narka, grandson Lloyd Gabriel, whom she adored and doted over and her brothers: Kurt (USA), Inskip (T&T) and Joseph Carrington (USA).

Marilyn travelled extensively with her life partner Cedric Fitzroy Flocker (d: 2012) and in 1989 struck their only child, daughter Narka with the travel bug with her first trip to the United States of America. Eventually, Marilyn moved to the United States shortly before her only grandson Lloyd Gabriel (fondly referred to by her as Stinky) was born in 2004.

As she did the children she educated for the Ministry of Education in Trinidad and Tobago for over 25 years at Crystal Stream Government Primary School and later at Piccadilly Government Primary School, she made it her duty to nurture Lloyd Gabriel. She taught him to read, write and pray as she had her daughter Narka many years before. She loved her some Gabriel…..did not care much for Narka, but yuh see Gabriel…hmmm!

Marilyn’s passing has left a gap in all the lives she has touched. Through our memories, the laughs and tears we will remember her three-score-and-ten+five that God blessed us with her spirit.

Marilyn is survived by her Aunts Norma Woods, Irma Goodridge, several family/cousins/nieces/nephews: Flocker, Woods, Le Gendre, Hernandez, Alleyne, Adams, Carrington, Goodridge, Narine, Primus, Phillip, Thompson, Young, Williams, Francis, just to name a few.

Close Family Friends: Lewis, Antoine, Russell, Kydd, Sulieman, Duncan, Cumberbatch, Lamming, Gordon, Aneke, Besson, Nanton, Greenidge, Yorke, James, Seymour, James, Dennery, Denis.

She will be remembered for her kindness, humility, her fruitfulness, and meekness with the heart of loving, arms of embracing, and mind of affection and hospitality
