Lillian Jackson Robinson, seventy-four of Staten Island, passed away on June 15, 2021 at Richmond University Medical Center

Lillian J. Robinson, daughter of the late Alice Lee Jackson and the late John Lunsford was born on October 31, 1947, in Whiteville, North Carolina. Lillian was the oldest of four siblings: the late Catherine Jackson, Mary Lunsford and the late John N. Lunsford. She graduated from Washington Irving High School in New York City. She spent many years residing in the Bronx, in East Tremont. In 1973 She moved to Staten Island, where she settled. She spent years at U.S. Gypsum, Staten Island before beginning employment with Richmond Home Needs. She married the late John E. Robinson in 1992. Lillian gave birth to Earl Duke Jackson and Tracy Jackson. She became a grandmother in 2003 with the birth of her grandson Devin Earl and in 2000 with the birth of her granddaughter Trinity Amor. Lillian And John later adopted Rozlind And William. Lillian cherished her godson and goddaughter, Quasiem Ruiz & Araya Johnson.

Ms. Jackson moved to Mariners Harbor Houses in 1974 where she resided for 20 years. She was an active member of the community. She organized and ran the 124 Brabant Street Tenant Patrol. Affectionately known as Ms. Jackson (AKA NuNu) She was a pillar of her family and the community. In 1994 she accomplished her dream of homeownership. This is where she let her creative talents show. Halloween was not only a holiday, but it was also her birthday. She really enjoyed decorating the house for any holiday to a level where she was unmatched. Ms. Jackson especially loved the reaction of the neighborhood children when they marveled at her creations of boogie men, elves, and Easter Bunnies.

For if you knew her, you knew why we must honor her. Lillian will always be in our hearts. A beacon of our strength that never shuts off and will never leave us, our eternal flame. In the end, your life will be measured by the life you lived. She will be missed by a host of family and friends.
