Lana Rosetta Ford, age 68, passed away at New Vanderbilt Nursing Home on January 21, 2022. Lana was born on June 7, 1953 in Morrisana Hospital in Bronx, NY. Lana was born to parents Claudia Ford and John James. She graduated from Drake Business School. In 1970, Lana moved to Staten Island and accepted a position as a counselor for the Archdiocese, where she worked for 34 yrs before retiring in 2018. Lana was a great family oriented woman and a loving mother. She was also a social and active woman who was deeply involved in her social club, “Lady Strikers.” She also did seamstress work as a hobby.
Lana got married to Nathan Lloyd in 1987. Lana is survived by her mother Claudia Ford; her four biological children: Luis Ford, Furquan Ford, Gladys Ford, and Michael Ford; her adopted daughter Gladys Rivera; and was appointed legal guardian of her granddaughter Myeshia Ford.
She is survived by her siblings; John Ford, Vincent Finch, Patricia Ford and Wendy Ford. Her surviving grandchildren are: Espirit, Ebony, Luis, Derek Edmonds, Essence Ford-Kangar , Furquan Jr, Myeshia, Donte, Doctashia, Nikye, Davaughn, Lamaya and Ma’chaela Ford; her great-grandchildren Tyese Sanders, Diante Edmonds, Zye Rudolph, and Laquan McGrew. Lana has three surviving godsons; Davon, Andrew and Ziaire. She is preceded in death by her father John James; her siblings Mack, Ronald, Claude, and Anna Ford. She is also preceded by her ex-husband, Luis Abraham who fathered her four children. Lana also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, two aunts, and cousins. Her family and friends will always remember her for her love of people and her sense of humor.
