Elder Joseph Banks Jr. was born January 19,1950, in Garysburg NC, to the late great Elder Joseph & Louise Banks. He departed this life Saturday, August 23, 2023. In 1963 the Banks family settled in Staten Island, NY, where Elder Joseph Banks attended Prall 27, Junior High school and graduated from Curtis High school. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1968, where he was a Medical Specialist. He was honorably discharged in 1971, he was cited with 2 purple hearts and 2 silver medals, 1 bronze medal, 2 service ribbons and an overseas combat award..He worked for Willow Brook State Center for 30 years where he then transferred to Brooklyn Developmental Center, where he retired. In 2018 he moved to Summerville South Carolina; he was ordained as Elder in 2012 in Garysburg NC. He was minister of music for several ministries in South Carolina, he later ordained as Elder in 2012. He joined Trinity Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Pastor Gerald Footman, where he faithfully attended until God called him home. Joseph was a professional guitarist, musician, psalmist & songwriter, he started his own record label JESTIVA Records, He played music all over the world spreading hope, joy and love. Proceeded him in death; his parents Elder Joseph & Louise Banks, 2 brothers Elijah & Joshua Banks, 2 sisters; Annie Pearl Jones, Queen Esther Washington of Staten Island, He leaves to cherish his legacy: 3 daughters-Apostle Tyhessia Ibukun (Michael) of Connecticut, Varsha Sprull (Otha) of New Jersey, Jessica Anwar (Abu Bakr). 3 sons: Joseph Palin of Staten Island, Jason & Carlton Palin, both of Delaware. 6 siblings: Geraldine Gibson & Pearlie Mae Pearson both of Staten Island, Samuel Banks of Clayton, NC, Lydia Banks of Wilmington, DE, Bishop-designate Moses & Vanessa Banks of Smithtown, NY, Cleophus Banks of Oneonta, NY, 13 grandchildren Anthony, Tyrell, N’dea, Madison, Aliyah Safa, Marwa, Shamar, Destiny, Alicha, Santino, Jahairah and Andrew; 3 Great grandchildren Jahira, Noah and Benjamin. A host of nieces, nephews. Cousins and friends and a Goddaughter Raemilla Bailey
