Jessie Mae (Nin ~ Nin) Fields

Jessie Mae Greene, was born on September 11, 1936 in Mayesville, SC to parents Elias/Jannie Greene.  Jessie attended Mayesville Institute and Morris College where she graduated. She was a member of the ST Mark Methodist Church in Mayesville, SC.

Jessie moved to Staten Island, New York in 1958. She met and married John w. Fields January 9, 1959 where they had 4 children together. Jessie accepted a job as a Teller in Chase bank and then as a librarian for the New York Public Library Bookmobile where she retired from.

Jessie was a member of the I.B.P.O.E.W where she was Past Daughter Ruler and treasure of Raritian Temple #219 and loved attending their functions. Her family and friends will remember her as a feisty, giving, caring person.

Jessie was a great family orientated and loving mother. She loved spending time with her children, grands, great-grands, great-great grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins and going to family gathering, playing games on her many tablets, talking to her friends on the phone, going to Atlantic City.

Jessie is survived by, leaves to mourn and will be held in the hearts of daughters Maria Fields, Deborah/Malik Bracy.  Her son Derek Fields, of Staten Island, NY.  Her 17 grandchildren, 38 Great-Grands, 9 Great-Great-Grands. Her sisters Mamie/James Wilson, Carolyn/Oliver Rose, Jannie Greene, Eunice Greene. Her Brother, Daniel Greene. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended grands, friends, and a best friend Louise “Spongie” Murray, whom her children consider their second mother. She is preceded in death by her late husband John W. Fields and son James L. Fields.
