A Loving Son, Brother, Father, Uncle, & Friend.

Jay Edward Davis Jr., age 42, passed on February 3rd, 2023 in Henderson, North Carolina.

Jay was born on June 17th, 1980 and raised in Mariners Harbor in Staten Island, NY to parents Dawn M. Moore and Jay E. Davis Sr. He attended Public School 44, Intermediate School 51, and Tottenville High School. He then proceeded to obtain his GED in 1999. Jay furthered his education at Vance-Granville Community College graduating with an associate in 2010. In 2003,  he moved to North Carolina, where he obtained a certification in air conditioning and refrigeration. He also worked in the field of construction as well for more than 5 years.

Jay was a great family man and a loving father. He always made sure to put his family and children first, even when he couldn’t put himself first.

Personality & Loved Ones

Jay was a very social, active, and intelligent man who was deeply involved in sports for the majority of his life. He played for Staten Island Boys Football (The Hawks), for Tottenville high school ( JV Football), and for various community basketball leagues. He enjoyed listening to various types of music including R&B, Rap, Hip Hop, trying to freestyle like he was Jim Jones, & singing Acapella knowing he couldn’t. He loved playing spades even if he had to cheat in order to win, dancing even though he had no rhythm, but most of all he loved spending time with his loved ones, and making people laugh. His family and friends remember him as a genuine person.

Jay is survived by his mother Dawn M. Moore, (Tyrone Landrum Sr.), his father Jay E. Davis Sr., his grandmother Sylvia Moore, (Wilbert Moore & Beatrice Sanders) both preceded in death,  his sons Tyzjay Davis, Kyshaun & Kwamonntae Norell, his daughters Zha’Monykue, Jaydah, and Mirakal Davis.
