Ibrahim Abdul Black (Ebee) was born in Staten Island, New York, on January 18, 1979, to the late Ibrahim Abdul Haqq and Debra Black-Jackson. He departed this earth on Thursday, July 7th, 2022. He was the second youngest of eight. He is survived by his siblings Nedra Woody, Bertha Black, Desiree Black, Lawrence Black, Hasaan Saldeen, Keiana Black, and Khadijah Haqq-Flores. He is also survived by his best friends David Flores, Shameal Flores, and his Big Brother “B”.
Ibrahim attended the NYC Public School System and obtained a General Education Degree. In 1998 he attended Denmark Technical College, located in Denmark, SC. Ibrahim was affiliated with Victory Church in Jesus Christ headed by Bishop Joseph L. Ricks.
Ibrahim worked as a Laborer and Flagger for Restani for several years. He enjoyed motorcycles, bikes, and cars. Ibrahim was passionate about training and grooming dogs (he called himself the dog whisperer). He loved spending time with family and friends -especially his children. He enjoyed reading, telling jokes, taking pictures, dancing, and playing video games. Most importantly he enjoyed helping people. Let’s not forget how much he enjoyed arguing and debating. After long deb ates, he would reply with “I won”. He loved wearing dashiki’s and kufi’s.
Ibrahim leaves to cherish in his precious memories his loving and devoted wife Tina Camacho-Black. His children, Shaniya Sanders, Tyequell Blount, Ibrahim Black Jr., Abdul Black, Hassan Black, Iesha Black, Jeffrey Black, seven stepchildren, and grandson Amari Sanders. He also leaves to cherish many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ibrahim will always be remembered by his infectious smile and laughter. He loved fiercely and deeply, and we take comfort in knowing Ibrahim is now at peace surrounded by light.
