Genevieve attended and graduated from A & T University. While attending A & T she was a cheerleader and a member of Delta Sigma Theta. She also participated in the civil rights protests in North Carolina at which time she was arrested which worried her parents but they were proud. I guess her mother and father didn't understood she was getting into good trouble like John Lewis would have supported.
Genevieve utilized her English degree to become a highschool English teacher. She was devoted and believed in her students. Next she attained her nursing degree from the college of Staten Island. Genevieve loved to be a nurse. Since she was a little girl her dream was to become a nurse. She initially worked as a nurse in the hospital and than worked as a school nurse until she retired. She also provided service at Mt. Sinai United Christian Church, for the United Federation of Teachers, with children that had developmental disabilities and many other places.
