Elaine Marie Beye, age 64 went to live in eternal peace on September 22, 2022 in the comfort of her own home in Staten Island, NY. Elaine was born on May 29,1958 along side of her twin brother Wayne Gilmer in Greensboro, North Carolina to parents Faye Gilmer and William Peoples. She then moved to Staten Island, NY where she graduated Intermediate school I.S.51 and McKee Technical High School. She then attended Business school and was a letter of credit issuance clerk at Standard Charter Bank and then later retired from Broadway Laundromat.

She married Rudolph Mckoy Jr. in 1983 of that union they had two children together, Rudolph Mckoy III and Tannesha Mckoy. She remarried in 1997 to Mustahine Beye of that union they had a child Khadim Beye.

Elaine was a very dominant, selfless and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Most people knew her as Aunt Elaine because she was so welcoming and treated others like her own. Everyone knew not to play with her either; she was well respected throughout her community and most of the time what she said, Always Goes!

She loved having a good time and she knew how to party for sure. Everyone knew if Aunt Elaine was at the function it wasn’t ending any time soon.  From her beautiful smile to her loud vibrant voice she will truly be missed, but will always be remembered for her compassionate, loving and soulful spirit.

She is survived by her father William Peoples, her Husband Mustahine Beye, her children Rudolph Mckoy III, Tannesha Mckoy, and Khadim Beye.  Along with her son-in-law Michael Gordon, her grandchildren: Alaysia Williams, Aijae Smith, Mikaela Gordon and Laureen Gordon. Her Great Grandson Kamdyn Levi Colin, and her siblings Marvin Gilmer, Ramona Braswell, Sharon Braswell Morris, James Jr.Braswell, Curtis Braswell, Lavonnia Braswell, Raquan Peoples, and Tyrone Peoples. Her Great Aunt Nina Hayney, Aunts Patricia Gilmer, and Lillie Mae Gilmer and Uncle Freddy Gilmer. Along with an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Her Mother Faye Braswell, Grandmother Daisy Gilmer and Grandfather Percy Gilmer, Sister Cheryl Christian Dee Sellers, Twin Brother Wayne Gilmer, and Nephew Calvin Green precede her in death.

Her viewing is October 6, 2022 from 6pm-8pm, and her funeral is October 7th, 2022 from 10am-12pm at Stradford Funeral Home 1241 Castleton Ave. SI, NY 10310 with a reception to follow at Miss Cheryl’s Dance Co. 448 Jersey St. SI, NY 10301.
