Dimas Roman was born on July 31st, 1950, in Manhattan and was adopted by his mother Amelia. He reached his 72nd birthday before passing on September 11th, 2022, at Staten Island University Hospital.

Upon turning 18, Dimas entered the military, where he became a Marine. There, he went on to fight in the Vietnam war, earning many medals including 2 purple hearts for his service. In 1971, he was granted an honorable discharge for his contribution to the war. Upon returning home, a newly retired vet, he focused the rest of his life raising his family with his wife Carmen.

Dimas was a family man through and through, making efforts to be an active part of every family member's life. He wanted nothing but the best for his kids and grandkids and would give them the world if he could. As father time started to kick in over the years, the social aspect of his life began to dwindle, but you were still able to feel the energy he had for his family.

Dimas was a fan of sports, loving the Mets and the Jets primarily but would often support all New York Teams. He was a lover of music and played guitar as a hobby. He was big on history, as he would always tell stories of his Vietnam days, or about things he’d watch regarding history.

Dimas is survived by his great grandkids Melody, Ava and Miles, Grandkids Julissa, Jasmine, Donnell, Cayla, Amanda, Jaydon and Tyler, his daughters Melody, Iris and Sandra, son Brian and his wife Carmen. He has joined his late daughter Carmen in watching over the family.
