On April 9,2022 Damon J. Boyd son of the late Michelle B. Boyd and Lionel Franklin passed away suddenly at the age of 45 years old .Damon was born in Staten Island, New York and lived in several communities throughout the Island. At a young age Damon lost his mom Michelle. As it would be his Aunt Denise who is the twin to Michelle  opened her heart and home to the three children of Michelle and raised them as her own with her two children. These five children were raised as siblings and love each other infinitely.

Damon attended Saint Peters elementary school and he earned his GED in 2010. Damon had certification in the Construction trades and worked on many sites throughout NYC.

Damon was the proud father of his son Damon Devale Mitchell. Great joy was brought to Damon by his two grandchildren Damyla Mitchell and Jayceon Mitchell who he adored. Damon was a giving, kind, big hearted   and loving person who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Damon loved family and family gatherings and he put those that he loved first .

Damon leaves behind to mourn his Aunt Denise B. Boyd, son Damon, siblings Darren Boyd, Tina Jones, the late Lionel Sherwood, Sarina Arnold, Devale Rivera, Zelshanna Pardo, Derrick Boyd, Lakia Boyd and Lionel Arnold. Damon also is mourned by his  many nieces , nephews and cousins on both the Boyd and Franklin  sides  of the family. Damon will  be remembered by his  long- time companion Ms. Kia Mbaye (Lakia). Damon was loved unconditionally by his family and he will be missed. Damon will remain forever in our hearts.

Damon had his challenges in this lifetime but he had faith and made peace with the Lord. The family would like to thank you  all for every kindness that you’ve extended to us during this most difficult time. Every card , call, text and offering of sympathy has given us support and the courage to push forward. Every kind word and action is very much appreciated.
