Cynthia Timberlake Smith was born on February 8th, 1957 to her parents the late Bernell and Doris Timberlake. She was raised in Brooklyn, New York and attended Erasmus Hall High School where she graduated with Honors. She worked for the New York State Office of Court Administration for 42 years and retired in 2018.

Cynthia relocated to Staten Island in1987 and met her husband to be Dale Smith, in the early 90's. Cynthia and Dale became a union on December 14th, 1996 and were married for 27 years until her untimely passing.

Cynthia was a phenomenal daughter, sister, aunt, wife, friend and person. She was funny, witty and had the best comedic timing than anyone else around. You knew you were going to be slapping your knee and laughing til you cried when you were in her presence. You always had a lot of fun with her.

We all knew she had funny jokes and zingers for days. We also knew if you told Cynthia a secret it would no longer be a secret because she couldn't hold water for nothing. She would tell you that you knew how she was and you shouldn't have told her. She would say that's like lighting dynamite and getting mad at the explosion.

Now when the music came on, you were in for a treat. She would start with the hustle and then hit her signature move, the robot. And nobody hit the robot dance quite like Cynthia. She was definitely the life of the party. She simply had the gift of bringing your spirits up when you were down.

Cynthia, also known as Cyn thang, Cynnie, Edith, Kitten, Aunt Cynnie and Boo, was always there for everyone, you could always count on her when you needed her. Her generosity and kindness was unmatched.

All of her nieces, nephews and greats loved her dearly. She treated them all as if they were her own. She was supportive of her nieces and nephews in all of their endeavors and helped in any way she could.

Cynthia always provided that unconditional love. She was indeed the favorite aunt.

Cynthia was an extraordinary wife and a unique, Regal beauty. She was her husband's confidant, right hand and the ultimate helpmate. Cynthia was supportive of all her husband's endeavors and is the executive director/founder of the soon to be launched non-profit ellacyndal institute of peace. Cynthia was a great woman of God who loved her Husband, Pastor and her church, First Central Baptist Church with all of her soul.

She was immensely loved and was truly one of a kind. She will be loved forever and will never be forgotten.

Cynthia’s memory will be cherished by her loving husband Rev. Dale Smith, their children Cherrise, Nicole and Dale II- She’s survived by her sister Pamela Timberlake Browning and three brothers Jeffrey, John and Jus Timberlake.
