Corine Graham, age 81, died of natural causes on August 29th, 2023, in Clove Lakes Rehabilitation Center, Staten Island, NY.
Corine was born on September 4th, 1941, in Four Square Valley, St. Phillip, Barbados to parents Isaac and Eileen Graham. She attended St. Martin’s Girls School and Princess Margaret Comprehensive School in Six Roads, St Phillip. She later worked at Bailey’s Clinic as a Nurse Aide, and then the School Meals Department in Summerville, St. Phillip. In 1972, she immigrated to the USA and settled in Brooklyn, NY. After a few years in Brooklyn, she would then move to Staten Island, NY and made it her permanent home. She accepted a position as a Caregiver at Willowbrook in the 1970’s until they closed their door. She then continued working as a Caregiver for United Cerebral Palsy where she worked for more than 25 years until retirement.
Corine was a great family woman and a loving mother. She never married but birthed a beautiful daughter, Monica (Marlene).
Corine was a social, active woman who enjoyed helping others, cooking, shopping, traveling, talking on the phone, dancing, crossword puzzles, her judge shows (especially Judge Judy), Broadway shows, going to Atlantic City and going on bus rides to outlet malls. She loved her family dearly, but she loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even her grand-dog endlessly. Her family and friends will always remember her as a God-fearing, caring, sweet, loving person that never met a stranger and was not shy to tell you how she felt.
Corine is survived by her daughter Monica (Marlene) Coppin, son-in-law Denzil Coppin, granddaughter Candice Coppin, grandsons Bevon Graham and Jordan Coppin, nieces Julie Hewlett, Jennifer Howard, Velma (Patricia) Callender, and Maureen Moore, nephews Oliver Graham and Richard Carter, great-nieces Abi and Zara Ola, Leilani, Graysen and Skyla Graham, great-nephews Jevan and Justin Howard, Finn Hewlett, and Chayce Graham, great-grandchildren Savon and Zoey Graham, adopted nephew Michael Hill, cousins Jalinda and Cecilia Dingwall, Ferdinand Dingwall Jr, Charrise Christian, close friends Novella Lawrence, Eleanor Greenidge, Marguerita Warner, George Richards, Editha Jackman, Theresa Yard, Keith Greenidge, Patricia King, Vivian Talbot, family friend Richard Coppin, Lizette Daley and many others. She is preceded in death by her parents Isaac and Eileen Graham, great-great-grandmother Louise Sargeant, sister Delvine (Auriel) Hewlett, brother Oliver (Stephen) Graham, grandson Denzil Coppin Jr and niece Celia Ola.
