Christine Darnt-Brady Obituary

Christine Lenore Darnt-Brady was born September 16, 1951. She fell asleep peacefully on August 20, 2020. She was predeceased in death by her caring and loving parents, Paul & Esther Darnt, and her precious and adorable son Andre Brady.

She is survived by three supportive-loving-sons, whom she loved as boys, but loved even more as responsible men, William Walters (Tracy), Kimani Darnt (Jamie), and Malik Brady (Dominique) of Staten Island, New York. A special loving daughter, Nicole Ross (Mark) of Jamaica, Queens, New York, who was a real source of joy to her. Chris, enjoyed 12 grandchildren & one great-grandchild. Excitedly, she was awaiting the birth of her second great-grand child. She held her grands more precious than the most valued gems.

Christine was educated in the Bronx, New York. She married her dear late husband,

Michael Brady in 1981. They resided on Staten Island, where they raised their three sons. She went on to be employed by the Bureau of Vital Records for eleven years. The family associated with their loving home congregation, Port Richmond, in Staten Island, New York. After relocating to Georgia, Chris was lovingly embraced by her Henderson Mill Congregation in Atlanta, Georgia.

Chris, as she was endearingly called by others engaged in many interests in life. She enjoyed collecting blue knickknack’s and fine china, Crocheting quilts, Electronics, Writing poetry, Playing cards, Jazz music as well as many of the Motown greats as they were soundtrack to her childhood. She especially enjoyed baking cakes and pastries and making others happy. She was a superb baker and could make any situation seem better with a slice of her notorious, delicious cheesecake, a few homemade tarts and her faith-strengthen words:

"Rely on Jehovah."

The most important accomplishment of her life was studying the Bible. On March 29,1986, she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She served as a regular pioneer (full time minister) for five years. Often she reminisced about the joys she experienced while pioneering and attending pioneer school. Studying and assisting her sons and others to baptism brought her the greatest joy. Even failing health, could not extinguished her pioneer spirit. She continued to tell others the good news about Jehovah's promise of a paradise, by means of Jesus Christ rulership, soon to be established here on earth. (Psalm 37:29). Toward the end of her life, she zealously performed her ministry by letter, telephone, text, email and informal witnessing to whomever she met. Faithfully, Chris served Jehovah for 34 years... Leaving us all a fine "Spiritual Legacy."

Chris leaves to cherish her precious memory, her one and only brother, Paul Robert Darnt (Yvonne), two sisters, Barbara Sprauve and Elizabeth Jones, all of Decatur, Georgia. Chris affectionately loved her brother and sisters, as well as a host of dear nieces, nephews, relatives, along with her spiritual family in the congregations she served in through the years.

Christine was like the beautiful desserts she baked...Oh, So Sweet, with a lil dash of kindness mixed in. Her death is truly a bitter-sweet sorrow. Sweet, because she is no longer suffering, and the next time she open her eyes...She will be in paradise. Bitter for us, Because we will truly miss her. However, let us always rejoice in the promise that she is just around the corner. She did her part. We have our resurrection assignment. When she is resurrected, let us rejoice in the privilege of updating her on everything she missed. May all of us ensure NOW that we do everything necessary to be there to "Welcome Her Back."
