       Bessie Mae Lloyd was 83 years old and passed on of Natural causes on March 29, 2024 in Staten Island New York. 

     Bessie Mae Lloyd was born on December 7, 1940 in Union County, South Carolina to the parents Aubrey Norris Sr and Mattie Norris. She graduated from Sims High in 1960 in Union County. In 1961 she moved to Staten Island, NY. 

    In 1961 she Met Thomas Lloyd and they married in 1962. Together they shared 4 children Melissa Jenkins, Thomas Lloyd, Timothy Lloyd Sr and the late David F. Lloyd. She worked all her life and she retired from Volunteers Of America.

    Bessie was a Great family woman and a loving Mother and Mama to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bessie was very social, loved shopping (every Saturday) and loved to cook. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving person who was welcoming with open arms and always extending her hands. 

    Bessie was predeceased by  her brothers John D. Norris, Gwendolyn Norris, Charles E. Norris.

    Bessie is survived by her children Melissa Jenkins, Thomas Lloyd, Timothy Lloyd Sr, and son in Law Tracy Jenkins Sr. Grandchildren Tracy Jenkins Jr, Timiesha Lloyd, Tyrell Jenkins, Timothy Lloyd Jr, Thomas Lloyd, Tyrese Jenkins and Tiajah Lloyd. Great-Grandchildren Aanesti Peterman, Taizer Jenkins, Tashai Manora, Takai Manora, Timothy Lloyd lll, Nasir Jones and Taylor Jenkins and also survived by three siblings Hazel Norris, Irene Nichols, Aubrey Norris Jr,  and a host of nieces and nephews.
