Annell Trotman -Hudson- Salley, departed this earthly life for my final resting place on January 9th 2024 At 8:30 am
I am  one of eight children born to the late Vilmanell (Snooze) and Joseph (JT) Trotman Sr. in Colleton County South Carolina.  The marriage between my mother and father brought forth eight children, Joseph (Bubber), Margarette, Amelia Tajema, Betty, Twins, Kenneth and Keith, all deceased except my baby sister Sylvia Trotmana as if September f26, 2018.
I grew up in Springtown, S. C. and attended Springtown Elementary School until I was 10 years old and then came to New York City where I attended P.S. 28, J.H.S. 268, and George Gerschwin Jr. High School. I graduated from Prospect Heights High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from College of New Rochelle in Brooklyn, N.Y.
In 1963, I married John Frank Hudson, and from that union my son John Frank Hudson Jr. was born.  I also raised my sister betty’s child Tajema Trotman from the age of 10 until adulthood.  In addition I guided and cared for my baby sister Sylvia, who followed me from Carnarsie, to Greenwich Village where I lived for 15 years and my final destination Bedford Stuyvesant. where I have lived for over 33 years.
I remarried in December 1987, to Clyde (Bo) Salley, a resident of Spring Town, S.C. and the brother of my child hood best friend Arlene Salley.
I loved life and spent my whole life helping family and always tried to uplift their spirits when they were  down. I worked hard to encourage them to be the best they can be while on this journey called life.  I have worked and prayed daily for every thing that I have accomplished.
I enjoyed life to the fullest, I love Art and consider my self an artist, I enjoyed going to plays, music and dancing especially latin music.  Listening to Gospel music, sewing and reading for leasure and to further my education.. I was always goal oriented  and committed to knowing the history of my people and passing the information on..
I regret not applying myself to learn Spanish because I love the Music and French, & other languages to be able to engage in conversation with my African Brother and Sisters from the Mother Land.
I started my employment as a baby sitter; I worked in several factories until I landed a job at Idea Art working for Miriam, Molly and Sidney Pollacheck.  I worked there for 20 years until the business was sold.  I later worked for Congressman Major R. Owens, a job I gained with the help of Annette Marie Robinson.  After 11/2 years, Annette became a City Council Member and I worked as an Office e Manager for 10 years.  She later ran and won Al Vann’s seat and she became Assembly Member.  I continued to be employed for another 10 years as an Office Manager, Scheduler, and Trainer and resolve community based social work issues.  A job that I still love.  I retired on March 5, 2012.
I have always done the very best that I could, through all my trials and tribulations I can truly say “Grace and Mercy” brought me through and I will continue to say “Amen” and “Thank You God” for all that you have allowed me to achieve.
A special thanks to my cousin Barbara Williams for being my sounding board, Mrs.  Annette Marie Robinson employing me and always coming to my rescue., Mrs. Katie Davie for suggesting a pay raise for my work over load, to Adrian Johnson for caring enough to put forth a favorable recommendation for a salary increase to elevate my retirement pay.  Thank you.
I leave to mourn my passing, My son John Frank Hudson, Jr., Ana , my grand children Keyonna , Tyreese , Janiqua , Daniella, my great grand children Joshua , Quran , Nasier , Micheal , Qumari , Naseem , Hasting Jr , Nazaria , Nadiya , my sister, Sylvia Trotmant, my niece, Tajema Trotman , Great Nieces Shana , Nia , Tonisha, my nephews, Shada and Eve Murdaugh, and Mya , Kimoka Trotman, Kashan Boyd, Great nephew Jaylen , my cousins Gary and Edie Wright, and the Wright family, Derrick Taylor and Eva Blackman, Margaret Persaud and my Best Friend Debora(Debbie) Ricardo who helped me with my son when he was 7 yrs old. My cousins in S.C., Ernetha Folks and family, JoAnn Bryant, Rachel Seabrook, the Trotman, Williams, Shider Family. And my Sister-In Law, Arlene Salley.I am Blessed and I am Loved. To my brother and sister, Johnny and Targema Cassaberry, I love you :
To Family and Friends, I say I have had a few bumps along the road of life, but over all I have had a good life with few regrets.  The few times that I have been depressed I just think about my favorite song “I Won’t Complain” and very thing comes back into perspective.  Love and respect each most of all reach out and help your love one if you can. You will be
Greatly blessed and God will reward you  on earth or in heaven.
Sincerely  submitted by Annell
