Walton Greene

Musician Walton "Sweets" Greene died peacefully in SUNY Downstate Hospital on May 29,2018in Brooklyn, NY at the age of 72. 
 
Walton is survived by his children; Yulonda Bell, Tanya Greene and Fanisha Greene, three grandsons and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by mother Annie Greene, Father Roosevelt Greene, Siblings, Fred, Frank and Monk Greene. Sisters Odessa and Annie Greene. 
 
Walton was born on March 24, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY to Roosevelt and Annie Greene. He was educated in the New York City Public School system. He was a Dry cleaner by trade. However, his God given talent was as a musician and vocalist. He played with numerous bands. One of those gigs led him to meeting a young woman named Diane Jefferson. The two had a union that resulted in the birth of their first and only child together. A girl and named her Yulonda. Walton pursued his music and traveled the states and abroad. His life was full and to it he was blessed with two more daughters. Tanya Greene and Fanisha Greene. Walton had a fierce intellect and was wise and conscious. He had a great sense of humor and was the consummate Gentleman. He is remembered as a no-nonsense father who spoke his mind and lived his life the way he wanted. And he encouraged those he knew and loved to do the same. He lived without apology. He assured those he knew and loved that he loved them. Walton was an accomplished Musician and vocalist. At the time of his passing he and his musical Partner Tennessee were using his gift of music to entertain the residents of his residential facility. 
 
 
Working on original music and making every attempt to get into the studio. Walton was a “self-taught” Musician. The guitar was his favorite and most beloved instrument.
