Madison J. Tilghman aka Jemel, 54 died on October 14th, 2018 Sunday, at Staten Island University Hospital. Madison was born in August 4th, 1964 in Staten Island, NY. He grew up on Staten Island in the Meiers Corners, Stapleton and West Brighton, and finally settling in New Brighton. Madison graduated from Curtis High School in 1982. After he graduated he continued to practice martial arts (Kung Fu) and worked as a store manager for Toys R Us for about 10 years. Later he took classes to become a certified nurse’s assistant and worked at Silverlake Nursing Home.
Madison shared a long-term relationship with Kim Mitchell. They had one son, DaQuan Mitchell. Madison also has one daughter Tamira Cannon. He Enjoyed practicing Kung Fu, going out the movies, Atlantic City, dining out and watching Kung Fu Movies.
Madison leaves to cherish his memories, his son DaQuan, his daughter Tamira Cannon and first love for many years Kim Mitchell. His brother Larry Tilghman, sisters Sharon and Alice Tilghman. A host of nephews and nieces. Preceding him in death are his parents Marion Tilghman and Mary White Tilghman. His brothers Mario, Charles and Arthur Tilghman and sisters Bessie and Tena Tilghman.
