Joseph Richard Evans was born in Harlem N.Y on June 6th 1944. He was one of eleven children born to Grace Woodridge Evans and William Trueheart Evans Sr. As a young man he attended NYC public school's in Brooklyn NY and was raised in Farragut projects. At the age of 16 he was drafted into the armed services and completed infantry at Fort Dix N.J. He married Alice McCoy in Feburary of 1968 and during this union, he fathered four girls; Aurora Evans, Gracealice Evans, Audrey Lawrence and Ellen Womack. Joseph moved his family to Staten Island in 1978, where he supported his family as a NYC transit track layer/supervisor. Joseph lived the rest of his life on Staten Island as a simple, easy going and devoted father and grandfather. Joseph leaves behind his four girls, his grandchildren Allanah, Ammunubia, Ashiya, Aurelio Jr., his sister Bernadine Chambers, his best friend Gary Taylor, son in laws, and a loving hosts of nieces and nephew's. He is preceded by his sister's; Thelma, Dorothy, Jenny, Marie, Lilian and Nora. Brother's Fred, William Trueheart Jr. and Rufus.
