Alberto Cruz Obituary

Alberto Noah Cruz was born in Queens, NY on October 1st, 1961 to Buena Cruz and the late Victor Cruz. He was one of six siblings to Buena and Victor Cruz. Standing out from the crowd, Alberto was tall, dark, and handsome...certified “Eye Candy”. His smile was radiant, warm, and exuded his loving personality and charm. He was a sharp dresser who loved the color pink and he never shied away from a good suit. Alberto had an active life. He loved fishing and crabbing. He also played sports, basketball and softball, which he played for several teams in ICC. He had a love for music and he played the guitar. Alberto was a talented artist and his favorite form of art was graffiti drawings. Alberto was not much for going out to eat, but he was quite the chef. His beef stew, chicken stew, and famous oxtails were a hit amongst all who knew him. His cooking abilities were topped only by his trademark “OCD cleanliness” as he was a neat-freak, relished organized drawers, and enjoyed having everything in its place. He was passionate about his muscle car, and was a member of the Legendary Muscle Car Auto Club. Alberto was also a Jack of All Trades; if he didn’t know how to fix something, he would always figure it out. He gave his life to the Lord in the late 80’s and from that point forward he proclaimed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a member of ICC where the Lord led him to establish a security team, which he loved; he was known as “Unit One”. Alberto worked as a safety officer at Williamsburg Charter High School for the last nine years. He was a protector and an encourager. He loved to inspire the youth and guide them to make good life decisions. He always had a word of encouragement no matter where he was, what he was doing, or who he was with. Alberto always had a huge personality, which shone brightly. His personality was bigger than life itself. When he walked into a room his presence was known. You did not have to know Alberto for him to be in your business, but he made it his business to know you. Alberto Noah Cruz was given a new assignment and commissioned to secure the pearly gates by our Lord on the morning of July 20th, 2019. He now stands tall at the entrance of heaven and is the first person whom all will see as they enter in, greeting the saints as he did at ICC. Alberto leaves behind his loving wife, Damaris Cruz, his mother Buena Cruz, along with his children, Alberto Noah Cruz II, Brandon Luis Cruz, Takia Leola Monique Cruz, Cherish Elayne Cruz, Immanuel Christopher Cruz, Audrey Viveros-Cruz, T.J., and Taliah. Alberto also leaves behind his 18 grandchildren and his siblings Jerry, Susie, Robert, Danny and Lizzie, as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
