Carol Asbury Williams was born August 17, 1941, to Margaret Leigh Hill and Milton Batchlor Asbury Youngstown, Ohio. As a child she moved to Anderson, NC and lived with her Aunt and Uncle until her teen years. She attended South High School in Youngstown. She would go on to married and have three children. Later she moved to New York to seek better employment for her family. She was employed with the Mayor Voluntary Action Center as a clerical for over 20 years transitioning to The New York Housing Authority where she finished her career. Carol was a very vibrant and very active woman; she loved to shop and travel and experience new cultures. Her favorite saying was Diamonds, Minks and Cadillacs. Throughout her life she managed to see at least 10 countries.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Brooks, her father Milton B. Asbury, her son, Milton Asbury, daughter Monique Montgomery, sisters Edith Williams and Delores Barnes and son in law Dory Jacobs.
She is survived by her daughter Tonya Jacobs, stepson Andre Greene, 6 Grandchildren: Sean Asbury, Starr Lentz, Jasmine Montgomery, Courtney Jacobs, Christian Jacobs, Jalen Moses and God daughter N’kai Traylor, 8 great grandchildren, Diane Asbury daughter in law, Latoya Asbury, granddaughter in law; Sisters Jacqueline Fears and Sandra Gilmore, brother Irving Hill and a host of nieces and nephews.
